Why Ischgl Is One of the Alps' Most Popular Ski Resorts
Ischgl is one of the Alps' best-known ski resorts, offering perfectly groomed slopes, modern lifts and an exceptionally long ski season. Together with Samnaun in Switzerland, it provides a wide variety of runs for beginners, leisure skiers and experienced winter sports enthusiasts.
Whether you enjoy wide carving slopes, challenging descents or cosy mountain huts with panoramic views, Ischgl has something for everyone. Thanks to its modern lift system, you'll spend more time skiing and less time waiting.
Every day we see which runs are most popular, which skis perform best in the current snow conditions and how to make your ski day even more enjoyable. We're happy to share that local knowledge with you.
Our Favourite Places in Ischgl Ski Resort
Ischgl is famous for its varied slopes and spectacular alpine scenery. Some locations, however, make a ski day truly unforgettable. These are the places we recommend to our guests time and time again.
Idalp – The Heart of the Ski Resort
At around 2,300 metres, Idalp is where many perfect ski days begin. From here you can access slopes in every direction while enjoying breathtaking views of the Silvretta mountains.
Greitspitze – Ski Between Austria and Switzerland
At 2,872 metres, Greitspitze is one of the highest points in the ski resort. Enjoy spectacular panoramic views while skiing between Ischgl and Samnaun.
Palinkopf – Challenging Runs with Incredible Views
Palinkopf is a favourite among advanced skiers. Challenging runs, wide-open slopes and stunning scenery make it one of the highlights of the resort.
MIETSKI Tip: The Velill Run – Your First Turns of the Day
Anyone who's skied the Velill run early in the morning knows why it's one of our favourites. While many skiers are still making their way towards Idalp, you'll often enjoy perfectly groomed snow, wide-open slopes and plenty of space for the first turns of the day.
Not the longest. Not the steepest. But a run you'll want to ski again straight away.
